The Night I Almost Fell Off A Motorcycle

Tonight is the night I almost fell off a motorcycle. See, I’ve always wanted to learn how to drive a motorcycle and a car. So because the motorcycle seemed like the easiest, it’s the first thing that I tried to drive.

Tonight was my second time to actually drive a motorcycle. The first time was way back last year. Although I’ve had a couple of lessons in between which now allowed me to start a motorcycle easily. Yes. That is an achievement for me. It took me tons of tries before I actually started one so I am now happy that I know how to start one easily.

Anyway, my friend, Kuya Vinnie, and I went off to this part of Tahao Road that had little traffic (if not no traffic at all). I sat in front and Kuya was at my back. The motorcycle was already running and he allowed me to drive it myself. I was able to for some distance when the rain started to pour. So we stopped for shelter.

When it was only drizzling, we started to head out again. He allowed me to start the motorcycle and drive it myself. But I was not used to driving a motorcycle from a standstill. And I got surprised when it suddenly lurched forward. We were moving towards the other lane (thankfully there were no vehicles!) and Kuya was panicking. Well, both of us were panicking. Everything that he taught me flew out of my head. It was a good thing that he was able to control the motorcycle or else we would have gone home with gashes and bruises. Whew!

And even if it was raining hard already (the rain started to pour that time), I let him take control and I was his passenger. Hehe. And we headed home dripping from the rain. Oh well. I guess it’s just not my time to learn. But I will not stop. I’ll maybe take a rest and then when the adrenaline passes, I’ll start out again.

Maybe today’s just not a lucky day for me. Like I’ve been trying to work since early this morning but the internet connection’s so messed up I couldn’t open much sites. It took me three hours to wait for this page to load. And it’ll maybe take me another two to post this one. I don’t know. I even went to this WiFi spot just to work but still I wasn’t able to because of the connection. But that’s a whole other story.

  1. Piece of advice… Don’t LOSE HOPE, LOSE WEIGHT!!! That’s according to the Cool Dude. ;) Maybe the weight (OVER) is a factor why at this point you can’t manage to balance a small motorcycle. LOL. If you still have the jitters or the mariposas on your beer belly, eliminate them by focusing twice as hard and motivate yourself. It’s easy to learn something if you are confident enough and determined to achieve something. Bruises are normal, NO PAIN, NO GAIN as we all know it. Shed the first blood, but not too much. Just a couple of scratches or a deep laceration will do. The next time you try to ride the bike, somehow, your instincts will guide you and eventually learn the process for a short period of time. Legend tells that when you get hurt or wounded while trying to ride a bicycle, the day after you got yourself wounded, it’ll be easy for you to maneuver this vehicle. In my case, it didn’t work! I fell butt first on the ground and acquired few minor scratches. kEWL! If I were you, i would highly consider the piece of advice from the COOL Dude… My Goodness..I’m speaking Amerikano here Senyor…But I’m a piranha… from the Amazona senyor.. Wake up little fishee and go get me some butter… Si? Syet!

Thanks for the tips, Chayee Boi. But I’m just not too keen on getting some scratches or even bruises at the very least! It’s almost a week now since I tried and I think it’s gonna be more than that until I try it again. Just wish me luck and hope for lessons without accidents. Hehe. :p
