School Time Blues

time to learn the ABCs
Time to learn the ABCs and more.

I am surprised I am writing about this. After all, it’s been years since I’ve graduated from college and has never stepped in a school setting since then. But I’m writing about school now. It’s just that I never thought it would come this soon.

See, my son, Sky, is going to school this coming June. He is currently three years old but he will be turning four this September. I have been thinking about him going to school before but I just was not expecting it to come this soon. I am not just prepared! I think I may be too young to have a kid going to school already even if it is just daycare.

So now I’m quite in a dilemma. I’m thinking where to enroll him. I’m thinking about the things that he will need when he is in school. I also am wondering who will be taking him to school and if I can handle bringing him to school and fetching him when school’s over. I also am thinking about the school materials that he will need and the uniform that I certainly will have to have made for him. And then there is also the issue of shoes and bags and lunch boxes and all that. And yeah, the tuition that I need to pay (plus the requirements that need to be fulfilled so my son can be enrolled).

Wow. It is just overwhelming. But I know that once I take that first step in all these, I will not feel so overwhelmed. I am always like this – worrying about things when they are most likely not going to happen the way I perceive them to be. Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. It’s the finances I’m worried about. After all, this means that the yearly expenses are going to start coming in.

I just did not think this would be happening so soon.

But yeah. I’m so happy my son’s going to school already. That means quiet time here at home. Hehe. And that he is already taking his own steps outside his comfort zone here. My little baby’s sure growing up that fast.

Nazarene is a good school. I’ve been hearing good feedback about it. tsaka less expensive
than St.Agnes. …although you can always try the local Day Care centre. After all, he’s only
    three, right? ^_^

My siblings and I have gone to Nazarene before. My mom says though that right now, there are lots of students there already compared to the old days. And since Sky’s only just about learning how to socialize (which is the main point why we’re sending him to pre-school), we’re sending him to the local day care center. Tipid sa pamasahe! :p
