Lost
I should have put all my valuables under lock and key a long time ago.
A month ago, when I checked this container where I put all my 5-peso and 10-peso coins, I noticed that I had only around 2000php in there. I was really surprised because the last time I counted (which was back late last year), I had already 3500php. So let’s say four months after, the amount dwindles to almost half.
I did not want to say anything. I just kept my mouth shut. I do not know who might be ‘using up’ all my money. So I just went on being silent.
A couple of minutes earlier, I decided to take a look at those two pieces of jewelry that I have. Those two pieces are the only ones that I have with me (although I still have other pieces which I keep with my mother). I had lost a ring with stones in it before so these are the only ones left. They are made from gold and I do not use them because I am not a real jewelry type of person. I do like the real ones but I’d rather just keep them safe. I do not want to lose them.
And so today, I took them out of where I have been hiding them. To my surprise, I only saw the bracelet. The necklace which was priced much higher was nowhere to be found. It’s been over a year since I last checked on them so I really do not know where the necklace went. I’ve looked all over and yet I do not see it anywhere.
I am a pretty trusting person. My cabinet’s not locked. But since I had been losing money and stuff around, I had already bought a lock. I am not blaming anyone because it’s not their fault my stuff is just lying around. I blame myself for not being thorough with my valuables. If I had been more careful, maybe what I lost would still be with me. But I’m just praying that whoever took them, I pray that they use them for good.
