Why I Name My Gadgets
Call it weird. I don’t care. And yes, I’m not the only person who does this.
I posted something about naming my gadgets on Facebook. It was just something that came randomly in my head. And today, I was still pondering why do I do that.
Well, I know that one of the reasons is because it sounds cute and they are sort of like my children. Well, in fact, maybe yes. See, I have to take good care of them. I have to make sure that I am not overusing them. The thing about gadgets is that you have to make sure that you do not abuse them or else they get angry at you and refuse to work. Let them have some rest and they will be back. And I think of them as my children because they are the fruits of my labor. Yes, thank you to hard work, I own them. And no, they were not given to me. So there.
I guess you have not met them yet. Some of you may. Well, that is if there are still people reading this blog. I have not been able to spend much time here because of things. And I just caught some minutes of lazy time to get you updated. Anyway, here’s a list of my gadgets that I have named:
- Odie – my first desktop (AMD Sempron)
- A – my pink Samsung digicam
- D – my HP Mini
- Nigel – my Nikon D40
- Red – my new desktop
Thinking about it, I never got around to naming the first digicam I owned (the Canon A430). Yeah, well, it’s in heaven now so I’ll just let it be.
Why don’t you try naming your gadgets? It’s fun. And when they’re gone, you will always remember them.

my clunky desktop computer is yet to be named although “clunky” seems like a good fit.
Boys give their stuff girls’ names. Girls give boys’ names. Nice. Maia, parang sosyal na maya. Haha.
Clunky sounds good. Haha. Reminds me of Archie Andrews’ jalopy which clunks a LOT.

Hello Peach! I also gave name to my gadgets like miyo for my msi wind notebook, spy for my sony digicam & asha for my apple ipod, just like what you’ve said their are also the fruits of my labor that’s why i love them soooo much! I really love your blog, so cool!
