I am not a perfect writer. Well, no one is. It’s just that I hate it when some would say that they are writers and yet I can’t even understand a word of what they are saying. Hey, this is not elementary or high school anymore. This is freelance writing. This is getting paid for what you wrote.

As you have probably seen, the first peeve I have is the one I discussed above. And then another is one that would write and submit to you an article on MS Word and everything’s just fine – no red or green underlines. So you think it’s okay. But when you read it, that’s when the trouble starts. I don’t have to tell you what trouble but I think you probably have an idea.

And then there are those who do not understand the meaning of being paid for writing. First off, if you are getting paid for writing something, make sure that it is an original piece and not something that you put together connecting phrases and sentences (and, gasp!, even paragraphs) from other articles or sources on the Internet. Now, now. If that is your own site, go ahead and publish such type of articles. But if you are getting paid for something, even if the client has not asked you to give him something original, it usually means that what you submit is an original one. If it is something lifted from various sources, I am pretty sure your client could do that himself (and he does not need to spend for something like that).

Then there is that writer who would submit an article. The whole thing, in general, is good. What just sets me off is when they would use words that they think are good when in fact these words just make the whole thing look like rubbish. Don’t get me wrong. They are just usually synonyms but they are usually synonyms that are not usually used in online articles. Or some phrases that have been literally translated from the vernacular.

I don’t know if you actually understand what I am talking about. Maybe what I have listed in this article, I have also made in this very article. But I don’t care really because this is my blog. It’s the paid ones that I am very specific about. It’s when it’s not mine that gets to me and I just want to take the article out and crumple it – like they do in movies when they were still writing using typewriters. That looks therapeutic even.
