Top 10 Signs I’m Delaying Working On My Freelance Writing Projects

bored freelance writer

As bored as one can get.

Here are the top 10 signs that I am delaying working on any freelance writing projects that I have on hand. See, I could actually work on them if I wanted to but it’s just that there are plenty of factors that could make me want to do other things instead. And yeah, my freelance writing projects could get boring especially if you have been doing such for a long time already.

So here’s my top ten.

  1. Plurking or Twittering. These two are what I do the best when I need to get myself thinking about the freelance writing project. It’s fun to have conversations over the Internet. I need the “time off” so when I look at the project, I would have a fresh mind and a fresh pair of eyes.
  2. Watching DVDs. This is probably one of the very reasons why my room is filled with tons of DVDs and VCDs – from movies to shows to series.
  3. Playing games. Heck, I’ve got quite a number of games saved in my computer right now. Like I’ve bought a number of licensed games already and there are still tons of those one-hour free trials hanging around.
  4. Eating. Well, eating is really a good way to relax yourself from the pressures that come with freelance writing projects. Especially if you’re eating one of your fave comfort foods.
  5. Playing with Sky. My son is just a breathe of fresh air and that is why playing with him is really good time spent off my computer.
  6. Sleeping. Who doesn’t need sleep? I need tons of it!
  7. Blog-hopping. If I need inspiration to work, then I go blog-hopping. Not only do I get new ideas and new pieces of information, I also do get entertained and learn about how my friends (both online and offline) are doing.
  8. Finding friends to hang out with. I need to take a breather and just get away from my computer. That is why you’ll find me asking people who’s available to hang out. And when I get friends to hang out with, we do hang out and then when I get home, I’ll be really pressured to work and that’s when I work really fast. I like it when it’s almost deadline, you know.
  9. Cleaning up my PC files. When I just can’t work on my freelance writing projects, I immediately turn my attention to other things – like cleaning the files I have in my computer. And that happens very rarely, I tell you. Imagine me? Cleaning? Wow!
  10. Internet surfing. Where else can you find the best sources of entertainment and fun and relaxation but the Internet? I’m glad I’ve got internet connection right here at home. Hehe.

What’s your top ten?
