Turning 26 And Other Stories

26

Nobody turns 25 two times. And I turned 26 last week. I wanted to be 25 still but that cannot happen. And so, like it or not, I turned 26.

I don’t feel 26. It’s just a number. But the fact that I am that old makes me have palpitations. I have numerous questions running through my mind like what will happen to me? What is expected of me? What should I already be doing? But it does not matter. I’m still taking things one day at a time. :)

Several days after I turned 26, I had my hair cut. It’s now short. It’s not that short but it is shorter than most haircuts I have had. I can’t even remember the last time I had hair this short. But I’m loving it not because it makes me look pretty (naks naman) but because it is easy to wear and manage.

The past week has also been the time that Sky had his first set of exams. As you do know, he is already in nursery and he is doing well. At least, that is what I think. To prepare for his exams, I have been helping him review. I don’t think I needed to do that because he was able to answer my questions easily. And I think he did well because during the exams, he was able to finish his exams quickly compared to most of his classmates.

Things are changing here in Legazpi City as well. The Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (the sixth movie) has already been showed during the same day that it was shown in Manila. Usually, it takes several weeks before movies are shown here but this time, it didn’t. And so I trudged to the cinemas with friends. I enjoyed it. My friends who were just into the movies did not find it good.

Bedsheets and curtains are two things that I am into right now. I don’t know why. I have this want to get more colorful bedsheets and more wonderful curtains. This is something that I did not even notice before. Maybe I must be growing old. Yeah. That’s right. Oh. Right. I just turned 26.

I have also been scouting for a good DSLR. I am eyeing either a Canon or a Nikon and I still have not chosen yet. See, I am thinking that if I get an expensive one, I may not even use all the features. And so what I am looking at right now are the differences between the two brands. As they say, it is not the camera but it is the photographer. They may think you to be really professional and good because you are holding a wonderful DSLR but that’s it. Just let the pictures speak for themselves.
