StarCraft During Freelance Breaks

Doing my freelance duties for hours could be quite exhausting. And so what I do is I take some breaks and try to have a little fun. Sometimes though, the breaks can stretch too long and that makes me cram in the end. My current schedule when it comes to working my freelance jobs is from 11pm up until the wee hours of the morning. There have been times even when I would fall asleep at 5 o’clock already. But I’m just fine with that.

I told myself that if I did complete one of my freelance jobs early today, I could start StarCraft. But because I was so excited about fixing up this site, I did not even notice that I didn’t play StarCraft. Oh well. I have been tinkering with this site at around 12 noon and finished at around 5pm. I know. It’s plain too much to spend on just one site but mind you, I didn’t even feel that I was doing something. It was like the hours had just passed. I guess I was just happy working on the site that I didn’t notice the time. So there.

StarCraft

Back to StarCraft though. I had installed this game just around a week ago and it’s like I’m starting to learn about it all over again. I know it’s a really old game but I’ve had so much fun with it. I remember back in college, I was so into the game that if my housemate, Cess, didn’t tell me that it was already four in the morning, I wouldn’t have noticed the time. I guess that’s just me when I am doing something that I really like to do or something that I find challenging.

And what I did last night was search for StarCraft game cheats. Call me a cheater, I don’t care. I just love those cheats – especially if I am about to lose a really hopeless battle. Hehe. I know. Just so you could recall, here are some of the cheats that you may want to keep in mind in case you go back to playing StarCraft.

  • Black sheep wall – you get to see the whole map without the black parts.
  • Breathe deep – vespete gas get a 500 boost
  • Food for thought – there is just a number of units that you can build but if you use this cheat, you get to build as many as you want to
  • Game over man – you lose the game. Now who would want to lose the game though?
  • Man over game – you win the game.
  • Medieval man – each of your units gets upgraded without using up any of your resources
  • Modify the phase variance – you can build just about anything without having to worry about all other stuff
  • Noglues – your opponent would not have psionics
  • Operation cwal – you get instant upgrades and the SCV builds buildings faster
  • Power overwhelming – you are indestructible
  • Show me the money – minerals and gas are increased by 10,000
  • Something for nothing – everything you’ve got gets upgraded
  • Staying alive – if you are playing a mission, you get to continue playing even if the mission has been completed
  • The gathering – psionic ability goes unlimited. This works for the Ghost (if you’re playing as Terran), the Templar (if you’re playing Protoss), or the Deviler (if you’re playing Zerg).
  • There is no cow level – you just won that mission
  • War aint what it used to be – the fog that you get because of the battle is gone
  • Whats mine is mine – minerals get a 500 boost

So there. Maybe next time, I’ll tell you about the hotkeys. I love using them each time I play StarCraft.

Okay. Now I go back to my freelance writing duties.

I’m hoping though that I don’t get that addicted to StarCraft again. You know. Like those days when I would troop to your boarding house just so I could get my share of StarCraft. And like those days back in college too. But I guess it’s starting to work its magic again because I’ve just wasted two hours playing. Argh!
