[x] Watched the Oblation Run.

The first time was when I was in 2nd year. My classroom happened to be just right where the Oblation Runners were passing. The second time was during my 3rd year. My classmates and I trooped to AS Walk where the view was awesome. 

[x] Made friends with a teacher.
[x] Was tricked as a freshman into attending a rally / prayer meeting.

Oh this did happen. It was like a mob just inside the campus for something. I could not remember what. My teacher said that it was okay to go so we all went (us all freshies) from AS to the University Theater. 

[x] Wore red or black on one of those wear red or wear black days.

Oh yeah. I remember red shirt days a lot. There was a time that it was almost everyday that I ran out of red shirts. And yeah. Some orgmates borrowed red shirts and the shirts never found their way back to me. 

[x] Wore red on Valentine’s Day.

Oh yeah. I specifically remember my housemate, Cess, and I trooping to Greenhills to buy us an outfit for the UP Fair concert on Valentine’s Day. I picked a red spag strap. 

[ ] Wore black on Valentine’s Day.

This did not happen to me. I dunno why.

[x] Learned UP Naming Mahal.

Back during the Freshmen Assembly, we were taught UP Naming Mahal. I never really got to memorizing the whole bit.

[ ] Was an RA (registration assistant) or SA.
[ ] Lied or begged to an RA for a slot in class.
[x] Participated in a there’s-only-one-more-slot-are you-feeling-lucky?

I can’t remember how many times I did this. But I never really got to be the lucky person to get that slot.

[x] Jogged around the campus.

I did this once. I was all into my new shoes and how I looked and halfway through the Acad Oval, my feet had blisters. I thought I didn’t need socks with my shoes. Lesson learned.

[x] Knew at least one xerox lady, manong, or technician by name.

I did. I just forgot her name now. But she was that lady at the CMC Lib.

[ ] Attended university level graduation.

Hey, I didn’t want to attend the graduation. I was having fun here in Bicol already.

[x] Got an activist for a teacher.
[ ] Watched a La Salle vs. Ateneo UAAP game.
[x] Watched a UP vs. any school basketball game.

After a breakup, I went with friends to watch UP Maroons play against the Blue Eagles. The Blue Eagles won. My friends thought I was joking when I told them what happened earlier that day.

[x] Studied in McDonald’s Philcoa for one full night and bought just one regular-sized drink.

Well, I had studied in McDo Philcoa for a night with some friends. We never did get ourselves a drink. But we took turns buying a sundae which then cost just 5php.

[x] watched a play that’s not required.
[x] Went stargazing at the Sunken Garden.

Almost every night for a time.

[ ] Slept in the lib.
[ ] Struck up a conversation with a taong grasa.
[x] Went to the chapel.
[x] Got a pebble stuck in your shoe/slippers while walking around campus.
[ ] Cut class with your block to watch a movie.

I cut class with a blockmate so we could watch Coyote Ugly.

[x] Had a Voltes V for a teacher.

And I luckily got a 2.25!

[ ] Lied to the transcript lady to get a transcript earlier than the standard 3 months.
[ ] Went to a Freshman-only concert.

I was sick during my Freshmen year concert.

[x] Subsisted on just streetfood (fishballs, half footlongs, kwekwek, squidballs/rolls, mais, dirty ice cream) for a day.

And this happened lots of times.

[x] Learned how to smoke.
[x] Went on an out-of-town trip with blockmates or orgmates.

Does the FR count?

[x] Fell in love.
[x] Actually read the book you keep borrowing from the lib.

I had to.

[x] Played cards during your free time.

I now miss our tambayan.

[x] Dressed in business attire.

I did this once and it was during my final interview with UP Ibalon. Come to think of it, we all were better off being in business attire. There were batches who had to come in costume.

[ ] Sumabit sa jeep.
[ ] Got sung to or sung to someone in class during Valentine’s day.

This didn’t happen but our org holds a Rose Sale during the week of Valentine’s Day and we get to deliver flowers to people in their classes.

[x] Watched the Lantern Parade.
[x] Helped out a total stranger.
[ ] Helped out a total stranger because he/she was hot.

Didn’t matter really. And I never noticed.

[x] Learned to stay awake for more than 24 or 48 hours straight.
[ ] Got bullied by fratmen and feeling cool wannabe people who were actually losers.
[ ] Volunteered for the pahinungod.
[x] Got a boyfriend/girlfriend.

But he was not from UP though.

[x] Took time to read the vandalism in the CR.
[ ] Watched a sexy art film for any GE class

But we did watch sexy art films for major classes.

[ ] Got held up or pickpocketed.

This has never happened to me in UP.

[ ] Felt depressed because you were not as good academically as you were in high school.

I never even thought I was good in high school.

[x] Did a last minute paper.

Happened most of the time.

[ ] Had spent a lot for 1×1 ID pictures.

Not really. See, the photocopy places in the UP Shopping Center had this feature which allowed you to photocopy a 1×1 ID picture into quite a number of 1×1s. And that’s what I did.

[x] Got exempted from final exams.
[ ] Got exempted from a final exam but still took it.
[x] Attended a varsity pep rally.

I believe it was during our Freshmen Orientation.

[ ] Promised to quit smoking.
[ ] Got into at least one (org- or council-sponsored) adventure race.
[x] Knew where the best restrooms are on campus.

Business Ad restrooms rock!

[x] Joined an org.

UP Ibalon forever!

[x] Allowed yourself to make mistakes.
[ ] Went to the gym in spite of having no PE class just to ogle varsity players/cute boys..

I never had a PE in the gym but I did go to the gym a couple of times to see a classmate. But I never really went there just to take a look at cute players.

[ ] Took summer classes.

I went to UP one summer for classes. When I arrived, I decided to go check my class cards first before I went off to enroll a subject. However, the weather was so hot I decided that I could not bear the heat. I went back home in the afternoon.

[x] Admired the Oblation.
[x] Made a video for a project.
[ ] Had a crush on a teacher.
[ ] Had a teacher who had a crush on/tried to court you.
[ ] Attended your ROTC Bivouac.

ROTC buwagin. Dagdag bayarin.

[ ] Faked sickness to get an absence excused.

I was pretty honest before.

[ ] Got your car scratched by one of those “Kuya bantayan ko kotse niyo” kids.

Hey, I never even got my own car!

[x] Took a PE class where you had to pay for tuition (i.e. sportsclimbing, ten pin bowling, scuba diving, etc).

Took three PE classes which had me paying for tuition – duckpin bowling, tenpin bowling, and advanced tenpin bowling.

[ ] Went to school in your crappiest yet most comfy clothes.

Well, not really my crappiest.

[ ] Learned how to use the Bayantel pay phones.

I knew how to use the phones even before so no big deal.

[x] Participated in school activities.

I was never a school activity kind of person. I did join org activities though. But I guess the elections count, right?

[ ] Caught the UP Pep Tryouts.
[ ] Dated someone from UP.

Did I ever date back then?

[x] Found a tambayan.
[ ] Learned how to beg for a higher grade..
[x] Used your 6 allowable absences wisely.
[x] Lived in a dorm.

I only stayed in a dorm one year and that was during my freshmen year at Kalayaan.

[ ] Volunteered to be beadle or go-to guy for your group/class.

That’s gotta be the hardest part.

[ ] Had the worst schedule.

Well, of course, you think it’s the worst schedule. But then you realize after a couple of weeks that it ain’t so bad at all.

[x] Is active in your org.
[ ] Got as many app forms as you can during the job fair.

I never went to any job fair.

[x] Learned how to cram.

A lot. But I had been cramming since high school though.

[x] Had accidentally seen a make-out session.

I was with Chiara and Denny that day and we were exploring UP. Hehe.

[x] Had mountains of “unused” sample exams and/or old testaments.
[x] Resolved to be “better this semester”.
[ ] Slept during a test.
[x] Had groupmates from hell.
[x] Learned how to work with groupmates from hell.
[ ] Perfected the art of parking on campus.
[ ] Had a bad encounter with one of the guards on campus.

I was hanging out in the Lagoon with my then boyfriend and I was just singing some songs when this guard came flashing a flashlight right on my face. Hey! I was doing nothing wrong and we were sitting right on these benches on the path. They should look for people hidden behind those trees or bushes instead.

[x] Developed a love for sisig.

Now I miss the sisig at Mang Jimmy’s.

[x] Looked at microfilms in the library or poked through archives.

I never thought I could actually learn to do these but I did. And I’m happy.

[x] Reserved a classroom, AVR, etc. for a class or org function.
[x] Attended the UP Feb Fair.

This has just gotta be one of the best things I’ve experienced in UP. And I’ve experienced manning a booth, studying for an exam the following day, watching the concert, and keeping an eye out for Atom Araullo all at once during the UP Fair.

[x] Went to a library other than your own college’s to research.

I went to tons of libraries for research. I can’t even remember which ones.

[x] Lost a perfectly functioning umbrella.
[x] Used consultation hours properly.
[ ] Went to the Guidance Office for real, heart-to-heart guidance.

There is a guidance office?

[x] Went to the infirmatay.
[x] Attended class with a hangover.
[x] Drank beer or alcohol while inside UP grounds.

Right in the middle of the Sunken Garden and also with friends at the College of Fine Arts.

[ ] Maxed out on the 6 allowed unexcused absences but DID NOT drop.
[ ] Got invited or pursued by a sorority or fraternity.
[x] Wore slippers to school.
[x] Had a professor who smoked in class.
[ ] Got diagnosed by the Infirmary as pregnant or infected with STD.

There is a lot of memes going on in Friendster and when I came across this one, I decided to have a go at it. After all, I miss UP. A lot.
