Oh my CSI! Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne) replaces Gil Grissom (William Petersen) in CSI

I was able to come across a CSI episode today. Well, one of the new ones. And instead of seeing William Petersen, I was staring at the face of Laurence Fishburne. And I thought maybe I was watching the wrong show.

A few moments later, I realized I was watching CSI indeed and I was reminded of this piece of news I read months before – that Gil Grissom was going to go and he was going to be replaced by Raymond Langston (which is played by Laurence Fishburne).

I was thinking that maybe Langston would be someone like CSI New York’s Mac Taylor – someone who was strict and had a strong personality – but I thought wrong. See, it was because Fishburne is a really huge guy and he acting so ’slow’ (compared to Mac Taylor) just does not work that well for me.

Well, this is just my first time watching him in CSI so maybe I’m just not yet used to the whole deal. I was also not quite comfortable watching Gil Grissom seemingly walk in slow motion when I first watched the series. But I have come to love him as he is. So I’m thinking given some time and more episodes, I’ll learn to accept Langston for who he is.

I know that’s my attitude but I guess I can never come to love Horatio Caine. It’s been a long time and I still don’t like him. Bleh!
