Bowling

How to bowl

Twice this week, I went bowling. Not tenpin bowling because it is not yet available here although there are rumors that say that there will be when Embarcadero opens. What I played was duckpin bowling.

Compared to the balls that we played with in UP, the ones here are heavier. I remember back when I was taking duckpin bowling as my chosen PE subject, we could do lofting (throw the balls so that they fly and then take a loud bump when they hit the lane somewhere in the middle) easily. I know lofting’s bad but many did that often. We were newbies.

This time, my right arm and my left leg were aching. And I remember one of our coaches in tenpin telling us that if our bodies did not ache the following day, that meant we were not doing it right. So I guess I was doing it right (unless of course it was just about my body not having enough exercise these days). But it was fun.

I played at the BeLovely Bowling Lanes. For 35php for one lane, you can bowl 10 frames. That’s one whole game. I had a couple of strikes already the first time I played. The second time, I was running a lot of 9s but not strikes nor spares nor breaks. I need more practice! Anybody wanna join me in my bowling escapades?
