And That Was A Strike
Bear with me. I am not feeling really in tiptop shape for the past few days. No need to disclose why. Just something that I am bothered with. But this will pass, I know.
So let me tell you some good news though. And this is for people here in Legazpi City who adore bowling. I know not much are into this sport. But I like this one that much. Well, scratch that. I love this sport.
Anyway, there are rumors that a place is going to open up here for those who love playing bowling. It has yet to be confirmed but I hope it is true. This would be something that I have really missed and it has been years since I have played. So if this really happens, then it would be make me very, very happy. If not, then I do hope that I get to play some bowling games if my plans of going to Manila push through. I just miss Manila that much, okay? And I heard somebody’s going to take me out on a free gimmick, right Sis? Haha. Davao is too far away. You can be the sponsor of my plane ticket to Manila. :p But yeah, it’s still something I’m pondering over and that’s that. No concrete plans yet but I am hoping I can go to my ultimate vacation place – Manila (where I stay for around a week and I don’t go out of the house).

Bowling is a sport in which players attempt to score points by rolling a bowling ball along a flat surface either into objects called pins or to get close to a target ball. -Wikipedia
Anyway, back to bowling. When I was a kid, my mother had played bowling during some tournament in that office where she worked. But I didn’t get to play the game.
Come college, during the second semester of my first year in UP, friends were talking about duckpin bowling and they said that it was a good PE to get because it was not that hard. So I decided to try it out. My first game of duckpin bowling happened during that sem. The lanes were not smooth and the balls were not even really round. We were thinking that even Paeng Nepomuceno would not be able to make a strike there.
I had fun that sem with duckpin bowling and so come my second year, my blockmate, Mayee, and I decided to go with tenpin bowling which was held at SM North EDSA’s bowling center. It was all about just learning how to play tenpin bowling and I was surprised that at the end of the sem, I got a grade that allowed me to take advanced tenpin bowling if I chose to. Mayee and I decided to go for it. And so I had three semesters with bowling as my chosen PE class.
I am not very good in playing the game. It is just that maybe I just enjoyed playing that I got stuck in three PEs of bowling. Or maybe compared to choosing other PE classes like walking, swimming, theories, wall climbing, marksmanship, badminton, and line dancing, bowling just seemed like the perfect choice for me. So there.
I just hope this rumor is true. I really would enjoy playing bowling once again. And I don’t care if it’s tenpin or duckpin.

Yup. An embarcadero insider tipped that there will be a 10 lane AMF-Puyat bowling alley there. –> http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=22024846&postcount=67
I hope it’s true. I’ve never tried bowling though. Teach me hehe
I sure will Dex. That would be fun. It’s really easy. All you have to do is look at the pins, pick up the ball, try to throw the ball straight to them pins and hope that you don’t get a gutter ball. Haha.
Now I wonder how much playing bowling at Embarcadero would cost? That AMF-Puyat bowling lanes in SM North cost around 70php per game plus the rent for the shoes. And that was years back. I wonder how much they’ll cost now. Argh!
