A New Book Each Month

reading books is love
Reading is love.

Reading has been something that I have been doing for years. And I have this much love for books. Right now, if you would come and visit my room, you would notice that books are seemingly everywhere! They are taking up too much space, in my opinion. Even my bookshelves are filled with them there is nowhere else to store them.

But that problem with space is not going to end my love for them. I cannot help but go through bookstores each time I go to the mall. I find a book sale to be the best place to spend time. And if only I could buy all that fancy me, then I’d be taking home boxes of them.

I may love reading but I have actually had put a stop to reading for some time. It all started when I was not able to acquire new books just because. And yes, there was the lure of DVDs (and TV series) that I spent much time watching than reading. However, it still is different to actually imagine how things would look like and how they are going than to actually just see them moving already in front of you.

With that, I have decided to give myself something to do and that is to actually buy myself a new book each month. See, whenever I go through book sales, I usually get myself some books from authors that I do not even know just because I like the story. Don’t get me wrong but I sometimes discover some really good ones that way. However, I find that I am getting behind with reading those books written by some of the best contemporary writers. I have tons of those authors that not much has heard of because they are sold for a lesser price. Now, I am willing to shell out several hundreds of pesos to get me some new ones – those that I have not been able to buy just because I felt that it is too much to spend on them. Hey, they are an investment. I am talking about books by Nicholas Sparks, John Grisham, Dan Brown and Paulo Coelho.

Today, I got myself my first one for this ‘project’. It’s The Time Traveler’s Wife. And this is because I have heard things about it and I want to see them for myself.

So wish me luck. I hope I do continue with this. After all, reading is certainly love. :)

Great post. I became hooked on Paul Coelho when I was a teenager in search of self-improvement.

Today I am an aspiring entrepreneur -even in the midst of this recessions! Books that have kept me on my path towards success have ranged from The Tipping Point to Millionaire Moms (The Art of Raising A Family and A Business)…

Millionaire Moms was particularly enlightening. I had a chance to hear the author, Joyce Bone, speak at a Leadership Seminar for Women- her story floored me and really inspired me to pursue my career goals.

…hope it is as inspirational for you as it is me-
